The BLOX community is a safe, fun, and vibrant destination for Calgarians and tourists; it is a central hub for business, shopping, dining, arts, and community events that celebrate local diversity and talent.

Advocate, Develop, Invest, and Attract.

The Mission of the BLOX is to provide a platform for collaborative action on behalf of the local business community and in partnership with diverse stakeholders within and surrounding the Beltline community.

Our aim is to:

 

  • Identify the strengths, needs, and opportunities of the local business community

  • Highlight local assets to serve common needs

  • Advocate on behalf of the local business community and stakeholders

  • Lead the transformation, beautification, and revitalization of public spaces

  • Create a safe and attractive environment for business owners and patrons

  • Promote the BIA area to business professionals and to the broader public

  • Foster a sense of community and collective ownership

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Beltline BIA is to fulfill our mandate as prescribed by our bylaws, including to:

  • Improve, beautify and maintain property in the area

  • Redevelop underutilized and/or vacant areas

  • Maintain community character and assets

  • Promote the BLOX as a destination

  • Create, manage, and execute public events
